“ I thoroughly enjoyed [the harp classes] on so many levels. The adult group format is great as we all come to it with different perspectives and different levels of playing. The questions & topics raised by everyone and the conversations that ensued were varied, I found them all very interesting & motivating.”
Group Harp Classes
Thursday 16 April 2026
Stan Moses Hall, Atherton
There is something for everyone today!
9:30-10:15 pm - Kids (ages 2-10)
Bring the kids along to experience the harp hands-on. We have some cute little harps for them to play along in a fun musical experience.
Cost: $20 per child + $10 for siblings.
11:00 - 12:00 pm - Beginners (ages 7-107)
It’s never too late to learn the harp. But in order to learn, you must start. In this Beginner Class you’ll be introduced to the instrument, shown basic hand positions, and shown how to pick out some tunes to get you going. Limited harps are available for this session, so bookings are essential.
Cost: $40 per person
12:15 - 12:45pm - *Harp Relaxation
This session is open to listeners. Come, sit or lie down, and relax for a moment in the midday to the sound of gentle harp music. This not a performance but a meditative session, and a lesson by way of example.
Cost: Donation entry.
1:15 - 2:00pm - Harp Circle Warm-Ups
This session is open to listeners. Come, sit or lie down, and relax for a moment in the midday to the sound of gentle harp music. This not a performance but a meditative session, and a lesson by way of example.
Cost: $40 single class. $20 additional class.
2:15 - 3:15pm - Open Lesson
A nurturing and safe place to share your harp journey among friends. Many local harp players learn online or alone; it can help to check in with a live teacher to answer questions. All styles, all levels welcome.
Bring along a piece that you’re working on and receive guidance. This might be a notated piece that you can never quite get through without stumbling, or it might be something you’re learning by ear, and perhaps you can’t figure out how to play a certain section. Sharing doesn’t have to be perfect at all. In fact, it’s better if it isn’t perfect so that we have something to work with :). This class is a great opportunity to practice playing something you aspire to play confidently. Listening to others work through challenges and joining in discussions is a great way to boost your musical learning.
Cost: $40 single class. $20 additional class.
“I could see the effects of the class transfer through into my sound healing session and over into my own music teaching. And, I’m now able to play that difficult passage I was having trouble with. ”

“It was a good way to be exposed to many ideas due to the different things people are working on, not just oneself... [I was] surprised to find my newly ‘activated’ fingers have continued during the week, resulting in stronger playing.”
